02 — Template
Is your photo sufficient? Almost always, yes.
We manually review every design before engraving. If anything isn’t sufficient, we’ll contact you—nothing happens beforehand.
- Clear, distinct lines
- Good lighting from above
- White paper
- Sharp image
- Shadows and reflections
- Blurry or shaky
- Dark or colored paper
- Photographed from too far away
- Hatch area
- Rub your finger over it
- Press down the adhesive tape
- Photograph on white paper
- Two attempts per kit. Is it not working? We’ll send you a new one free of charge.
- Imperfect is okay. We’re preparing your template for engraving.
- A wax impression works too. For example, one from the funeral director—a photo of it is sufficient.
Pencil Method — Detailed Instructions
- Shade a small area on white paper with a soft pencil (e.g., 2B).
- Rub your fingertip over the area several times until it is completely covered in graphite.
- Carefully press a piece of transparent adhesive tape onto your fingertip.
- Stick the tape onto a clean, white sheet of paper.
- Take a well-lit photo in daylight.
Alternatively, you can also use an ink pad on white paper.
Ordered multiple prints?
Please name the files “Person 1,” “Person 2,” and so on—then we’ll know which print belongs to whom.
What else works as a template
Photo or scan of an impression on paper, an impression made with an ink pad, or a photo of a wax impression — for example, from the funeral director.
File formats: PNG, JPEG, WEBP, and HEIC.
03 — Combinations
Front, back—whatever you like your piece of jewelry fits
This is the question we get most often. Here’s the answer at a glance—all of these options can be selected in the configurator above.
Front side
The main motif of this design. Defined by the design and cannot be selected.
Back side
Optional. Choose exactly one of the four options.
Can be combined with this item
Both can be selected independently of the engraving.
You’ll find all options at the top of the configurator.
04 — Delivery date
When is it yes?
If you order today and upload your design today:
in 4–7 business days –
Estimated delivery, 4–7 business days.
The most common calculation mistake: The 4–7 business days start as soon as we receive your design—not when you place your order. You can order today and submit your design later; the date will then be adjusted accordingly.
What if you need the fingerprint kit? The kit will arrive within 1–3 business days. You take the print, upload it—and from then on, the 4–7 business days begin.
In a hurry? You can select express processing at checkout. Your engraving will then be prioritized in the workshop and arrive with you 1–2 days sooner. For gift deadlines: We should receive your order and design template at least 7 business days in advance.
05 — Safety
Personalized means: just for you. And safe nonetheless.
Because your piece of jewelry is made individually for you, it is exempt from the right of withdrawal—as is any personalized product. In return, you receive three promises.
You’ll find out beforehand, not afterward.
If there’s anything wrong with your design, you’ll hear from us while it can still be changed—not only once the package arrives.
Errors on our part are our responsibility.
If the engraving doesn’t match your template or something is defective, we’ll remake it for free.
2-year warranty
For material defects, loose or fallen-out stones, and faulty clasps. Plus a free repair service.
And because metal works differently than paper: Fine lines are enhanced for contrast and simplified for the engraving. Very delicate details and shading may therefore look slightly different from the original. That’s craftsmanship, not a mistake — and we’d rather let you know in advance.
